PATRICK PUCKETT

Born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1979, Patrick Puckett later found his creative home in Austin, Texas. A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2002, Puckett studied under the guidance of Professor James Meade, developing a style that speaks deeply to his Southern roots.

Puckett's paintings are more than mere portraits; they are visual narratives inspired by life in the South. His work juxtaposes light and shadow, creating striking contrasts that reflect the complexities of human experience. Each piece features vibrant characters—whether it's a solitary man lost in thought amidst a lively crowd or wedding guests standing with quiet intensity—inviting viewers to explore the stories that lie beneath the surface.

The bold brushstrokes and radiant colors that define Puckett's style carry an almost dreamlike intensity, revealing a depth that resonates with anyone who’s ever felt the emotional undercurrents of life’s celebrations and challenges. His work invites you to look beyond appearances, capturing the essence of moments that linger just out of sight.
